Booking, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Sets expectations for the booking token, PhonePe checkout, cancellation, failed payment, and refund handling.

1. Booking token

HonestDrive currently presents a booking token of INR 1,000 to reserve an available car. The checkout screen must show the amount before payment.

A booking token is not the full vehicle price and does not itself transfer ownership. The remaining price, taxes, registration costs, add-ons, financing, delivery conditions, and other charges must be confirmed separately.

2. Payment processing

  • PhonePe processes the online booking payment.
  • A booking is treated as paid only after server-side payment confirmation.
  • A pending, abandoned, expired, or failed order is not a confirmed paid booking.
  • Users should not repeat payment while a previous attempt remains uncertain; they should contact support with the order reference.

3. Reservation

When a booking order is created, HonestDrive may temporarily mark the car as booked while payment is attempted. Failed or cancelled checkout releases the vehicle after payment status is checked.

A paid booking reserves the car for the period communicated to you at or after payment. If you do not complete the next steps within that period, HonestDrive may release the car and handle the booking under this policy.

4. Customer cancellation

The INR 1,000 booking token is fully refundable and is adjustable against the final vehicle price. To cancel, contact HonestDrive support with your account email, car ID, and order ID; approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through the payment processor, and the time taken depends on the processor and your bank.

A refund may require identity, order, bank, or payment verification. Payment-provider or banking settlement time is outside HonestDrive's direct control.

5. HonestDrive cancellation

  • The vehicle becomes unavailable because of an earlier confirmed transaction.
  • Material document, ownership, safety, pricing, or listing information is found to be incorrect.
  • Fraud, payment risk, legal restriction, or a breach of platform terms is identified.
  • A technical duplicate or payment reconciliation issue must be corrected.

6. Refund exceptions and disputes

No exception to the advertised fully refundable token should be introduced without prominent disclosure before payment and legal review.
